Have you always been in real estate? If no, what’s your background?
No, I’m actually a late comer to real estate. Before this I was an Anglican minister for 20 years and before that I was a Physical Education teacher.

Why real estate?
Primarily because it’s about people, it’s about being with people around really significant parts of their life. You know, as an Anglican minister I buried, married, and baptized people and so in a way it is similar. To be part of that is not only a privilege but it’s exciting. I enjoy helping people and being there to support them!

What made you want to become an agent?
I guess because of the engagement with people. I’m not great with computers, I prefer to interact with people and so as an agent I have that opportunity to create these relationships.

What qualities do you think you need to be a great agent?
You have to enjoy interacting with people. You have to be honest. You have to be willing to negotiate different agendas, find an equilibrium between the parties involved. You have to have knowledge of the industry and the local areas, and you have to be compassionate. There is a lot to being a good agent.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?
Everything, everyday. It’s so exciting to meet all of these people and helping them through this experience.

What's the funniest or most embarrassing moment you've ever had at work?
Well considering my past line of work I try exceptionally hard not to have embarrassing moments, conducting funerals, weddings, public events, everything has to be perfect. But there was this one time where I was conducting a wedding and I was running an hour and a half late, I was the minister! But then I get there and it turns out, the bride was running 2 hours late! We were both stuck in the same traffic jam on Parramatta Road.

What are three things you couldn’t live without?
My beautiful wife Lindy, the occasional sleep in and banana smoothies.

Where is your favourite place in the world? Whether it’s your couch at home or a cafe?
At home in Perth with my mum’s famous lamb roast.

Do you have a secret talent? If so, what is it??
Hahah, I’m quite happy to be talentless! Just stupid stuff like being able to wiggle my ears and move my scalp.

What do you love most about MB?
Working here is just a lot of fun, I’m working with great, intelligent people, great management, a great firm with strong values and morals. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
