SPICED HOT CHOCOLATE

Serves 6
INGREDIENTS
6 cups milk
200g dark chocolate, chopped
2 cinnamon sticks
2 whole star anise
1/2 tspn ground nutmeg
1/2 tspn vanilla bean paste
Brown sugar, to taste
METHOD
1. Combine milk, chocolate, cinnamon sticks, star anise, nutmeg and vanilla bean paste in a saucepan over a low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until chocolate melts. Remove from heat and discard cinnamon sticks and star anise.
2. Use a hand blender to whisk until mixture froths. Pour into glasses to serve and add sugar to taste.
3. For an extra decadent treat, add a shot of your favourite liqueur to each glass!
